#4 Injector line - replace

So, read about the problems with the #4 line cracking, checked mine a while ago, seemed tight.
Well it crapped out a couple days ago, left an environmental disaster in the Wally World parking lot!
Truck has about 70k mi on it.
Dealer had the line, $56, said they sell alot of #4 lines and none of the others.
Fair warning, If you got a 3rd gen I'd get one and put it on before you are sitting on the side of the road. They can be had for about 1/2 of dlr cost and it's about a 15min job with an open end wrench.

Just so I know...when/if this happens to me or others who don't know, is it just a simple matter of installing the new line, or do I have to "bleed" the fuel system somehow or something?? Thanks.

CR's are self bleeding from what I have read here. You should never crack the lines on a CR due the high pressure.

I replaced mine before it blew just because. The Cummins dealer knew the part number off the top of his head because they sell so many!

If they are self bleeding, how long will it take before they're not under high pressure and safe to work on??

No bleeding or worries about pressure necessary. Just remove and reinstall.

I carry a spare with the wrenches under the back seat just in case. Everywhere is a long, long walk out here.

The pressure will all be bled off within 5 seconds or less after shutting off the engine.
