Injector removal / replace

I'm going to pull my injectors this weekend and have them pop tested - I'm having trouble w/ blue/gray smoke at idle - even when fully at temp.

I'm going to use the short piece of pipe w/ a 14x1.5mm bolt to pull them.

My questions are regarding reinstalling.
1. Do I just reinstall all the lines and crank until she fires or do I need to leave the lines 'cracked' until I bleed the lines of air?
2. What size is the hold nut nut for the injectors? ie: what size socket do I need?

Any other suggestions are appreciated.

BTW
The nice part is the shop that is recommended for testing is in the same block as my office - litterally around the corner.
They charge $9.54 per injector to test and $23.10 per injector to re-build - sounds reasonable to me. Is this the norm?

15/16th deep well socket

! lug nut should work for pulling them out (did for me)

I just put the lines back on, and she fired up and ran rough for about 45 seconds, then all was well.

yeah, just use a lug nut to pull them out. I have done it both ways (cracking and not cracking the lines) and it made no difference as far as how long it takes to fire.

Make sure to undo the lines, both supply and return completely from the pump and injectors and remove them totally. Bending them out of the way can make reconnection very difficult and can damage the lines.

Your rebuild price is what it cost here to pop test them

Be sure to clean up the return line where the bango bolts sit with some emory paper and use new washers. Keep everything spotless. Any tiny bit of crud will end up in the nozzles. Blow out the lines before you put them back on. That price seems good for rebuilding.
