Hole In Fuel Line, Replace With Aeroquip??
Hole In Fuel Line, Replace With Aeroquip??
I have been expecting to replace my fuel lines, they are rusted badly. first pinhole popped this weekend. I want to put a fass system on it laster, just don't have the $$ right now. looking to keep the truck, I am buying a wrecked 1500 2001 to rob the 4 door cab, so I want to do this once. Rubber diesel fuel line? aeroquip line? stainless? Opinions??
You can replace the lines with marine grade fuel line all the way to the tank, no metal lines are necessary. Same with the return line, marine grade. Why do you want the fass pump, the mechanical lift pump on your 97 is very strong and reliable.
i was thing of using the aeroquip lines for longevity. that is what is used on tractor trailer trucks. I was planning on the FASS for dependability, plus the claim of smoothing out the idle plus better fuel mileage. Not worth it on my truck?

If you use USCG approved fireproof hose it will easily outlast the truck.
I used Trident Marine fuel hose #365. It was recommended by others on this site. If I remember correctly, I ordered 14 ft of each line for a standard cab long bed. I think the send line was 3/8" ID and the return line was 5/16" ID. It cost me about $75 shipped from Blue Water Ships Store.
