NAPA Warranty - Lifetime no more?

NAPA Warranty - Lifetime no more?
Trying to purchase a new track bar today.
The current one has 2 yrs and just shy of 24,000 miles on it. It was an OEM replacement done by the dealer when I bought the truck. Tried to get their warranty, only 12 mos/12,000 mi...figures
Called NAPA for a price check ($139 or 224) they said they no longer offer the lifetime warranty on either unit. Anyone else run into this or was the guy wrong. He indicated it was due to tightening up because of economy. NAPA website doesn't indicate warranty info.
O'reiley's still offers lifetime on the MOOG, guess I would rather have the warranty than get the NAPA part.
What say ye? Was the NAPA guy full of it?

What a joke, called a different NAPA store- the guy didn't even know what a track bar was!!! I had to give him the part number; I don't like that store anyway. He told me yes on the lifetime warranty. Who knows??
Good call on moving this, wasn't really HELP worthy except I was trying to get the part today. Oh well it's snowing now, so won't have to worry about it today.

Watchout!
Buyer beware!!! Watchout and read all NAPA LIFETIME or (other) warranty info with upmost care! I had a real bad situation with a NAPA alternator. It really does not cover anything- except direct replacement of the same crap rebuild part- no money for labor or towing or damage, plus expect to wait MONTHS for the money! They spend most of their money on ads and hats to get you in the store- then they screw you! Most likly reason they dropped LIFETIME version was customer disatisfatction and threat of legal action- Lord knows I was close!

Lets get real............anybody that offers a lifetime warranty hopes to get out of it by knowing most people will not read the small print and screw themselves out of it.Look at the lifetime brake pads.......they will be selling you new rotors too

It all depends on the individual Napa dealer.
Here in small town Montana my dealer even recognizes my voice ion the phone.
Never had any problem at all, always direct swaps for lifetime parts, no cash involved.
Heck they even took back oil filters for rigs I no longer owned that had been hanging out in the shop for many years.

As far as Napa goes, we are a Napa Care Center. There are now 2 category's of parts at any Napa, DIY or PRO.
The DIY line is what you get when looking for price. The Pro is what you get if you are shop, or if you request HD.
The warranty has changed on some things.
I will tell you that track bar will not last unless you spend the extra for the HD, or get one from a dealer. I changed 3 of them all under warranty from Napa, and finally got one from the dealer that would last. Dealer cost was about $14 higher than Napa in the end.
As far as lifetime warranty's go, all that means is you will be replacing that part for the rest of your life and time.
