Diesel Fuel Sending Module

I have a 1998 Ram 2500 12 valve CTD. Inside the fuel tank there is a tall unit (module) that has the sending unit mounted on it. There is a screen at the bottom, and the engine mounted lift pump uses this filter system to retrieve fuel. On the outside on top of the module there are 2 metal hose fittings with a 90 degree angle that hook to the external fuel lines. (I have attached a photo)

My metal curved piping has broken away from the the top plate of the unit. Totally rusted out. Can someone tell me where I can find a replacement or if there is a way to repair this?

Please note that the sending unit to the fuel gage worked fine at the time of disassembly and I do not really wish to replace the entire unit if some repair method were available. Not relishing the thought of complete replacement but at this time the pickup is useless without fuel!!!!!

Thanks for these links. I think I will go with the Vulcan Performance Draw Straw for 1994-2004 Dodge 5.9L Cummins. I think it should work fine and it looks like they will deliver to Canada.

OK, I chose not to go with the Vulcan modification as I found a local person who has repaired several of these in the past with a specially machined fuel line plug. I took some photos and scratched some notes on this repair job and this file is attached. It cost me $20 for the plug and another $20 for fuel line and clamps. Thanks again for your suggestions.

That's a great repair! Any chance that the guy that made the plug would be able and willing to sell them to other members? I'd really like to buy one if at all possible.

400Magnum, I found the person's phone number and called him. He may or may not have one left but knows the person who made these for him. If available, the part would have to be shipped to you from Thunder Bay, Canada. If not available, I can try to get the physical dimensions (which I should have recorded when I had mine on hand) and any machine shop with a lathe would have no problem in making it up. I sent you a private message regarding possible shipment of one of these plugs.

Wow, I really appreciate your efforts on this. Honestly, if you could just send me the dimensions on a sketch or whatever you have that would be just fine. If you could also give me some idea of the length of tubing that you used to finish the part that'd be great. I'd like to have this whole assembly as complete and ready to install as possible when I remove the old part and not have the truck out of commission for too long.

Thanks!

400Magnum, this may not be the best news for you. I tried to reach this fellow before leaving town yesterday and left my phone number. I left home for family Easter on both my and my wife's side and will likely not be back home until the weekend of April 26-27. Following this I can visit this fellow and get the plug that hopefully he found, measure it and post the dimensions on this site. For tubing, I purchased 18 inches of non-coated steel brake line; one at 5/15 inches and one at 3/8 inches diameter and cut and bent these to reasonable closely match what was there originally.

98DRQC12V,
No worries at all, I'm not in a huge hurry for this, I won't have time to get around to changing this out for a few months, so there's plenty of time. Whenever you get around to this will be fine!! I appreciate your efforts in this.
Have a great Easter with your family!!

Top Plug for Fuel Sending Module

As requested by 400Magnum, I've visited this fellow that had these plugs made up and he had one left lying around in his garage. I picked it up and took some measurement with results shown in the attached file. I hope this helps others with similar problems.
