BHAF messed up my a/c.

Hey guys,

My BHAF rubbed a hole in the low side a/c line that sits under the air filter. So what are my options on fixing this issue other than replacing the whole line that is probably way overpriced or discontinued? I know this is a retarded question but would it be safe/alright to JB weld it?

Thanks in advance

I think you answered it yourself. You may find the line aftermarket.

Hopefully JB weld fixes it. I just replaced a couple AC lines myself, not cheap...

JB weld is normally good where the repair doesn't flex. Charging the system is expensive & a waste if the fix doesn't hold. Check with a hose shop. Perhaps you can flare the line & add threaded connectors on each side & replace only a section. Perhaps you can replace with rubber hose. You most certainly can protect the replacement with a rubber hose once you do come up with something.

I thought about brazing it but I didn't feel like catching my truck on fire. So far the JB weld has been holding up and hasn't let my freon spew into the atmosphere. I've got the line protected with some rubber hose so it won't rub through again. I wish I knew about that before I put on that BHAF.

Thanks for the help guys.

Yes, mas' importante to place a rubber hose over the a/c line when installing any type of BHAF that will rest in the factory airbox location. If you have not done so do it now.
