Transmission starting to die
It wasn't bad, I had a buddy help take it out, but I put it in by myself, and I worked at a buddy's shop using his lift and transmission jack. So you will need a torque wrench to torque the flexplate and torque converter bolts, a transmission jack and thats about it.I also went ahead and put new seals in the transfercase while I had it out. I was going to put in a new rear main seal in the motor but it was good, I had a little oil drip is why I was going to but found out it was my pan gasket. The hardest part was the torque converter bolts, just because the inspection hole is so small and you can't hardly get your hand in there to start the bolts, and you have to thread them each in, then go back tighten them and back them off a turn then do it all over again and torque them, just take a day off and take your time nothing is really that hard to do. the tranny cooler lines can be a pain to start sometimes, but that goes for all steel lines...where are you located...
I'm here in Southwest Fla. I'll probably try to do it myself when the time comes. My local shop says they'll do it for $650 or so, but I kinda like to know exactly whats happening in my truck. Once it hits $500 worth of pain I'll have it towed to the shop if I have to.... I think Goerend is the way to go, though....
