Replacing Front Rotors Info
After several hours of beating on the right front rotor and nothing happening, I put a metal cut off blade on my Makita circular saw and cut through the rotor and then backed the saw toward the hub careful not to cut into the hub. Then drove a tree felling wedge into the slot that was cut into the rotor and spread the rotor and the rotor came off easily. On the left side I had to make 2 cuts 180 degrees apart, took 5 minutes, drove the wedge into the slot and the left side came right off, taking a total of 10 minutes. Hope this is helpful.
The cuts should be made on the rotor at the 9 o'clock position, allowing the blade to make the cut and not come in to contact with the backing plate.

I started to change mine about a week ago and ran into the same trouble. I did not beat to hard as I wanted to be able to put it back together if needed.
I will try this when I go to swap them out and do appreciate the method.
I would have thought the rotors to be very hard to cut, but you say 5 minutes?
Thanks...

I should add that I used a new blade, it gave me enough diameter to cut through the rotor completly, believe it 5 minutes. Don't forget the tree felling wedge.

Captian.. How is the spark show using this method.. Should I be careful about catching anything on fire?
Next attempt I will be using my long handle sledge before breaking out the saw to cut the rotors.. The next attempt will be when I do not need to use the vehicle the following day. They will come off one way or another..
