Po216?

On the PO216 code could this be the fuel filter or something else other than
the VP44 going bad? I just want to check everything before I take it to the dealer.
I checked fuel pressure it’s not all that bad the truck has a bad stumble taking
off in low gear and will pick up at about 1800 RPM’s and more smoke than normal. From the search I really think it’s the VP44 but I don’t know a lots about these trucks. It's all stock.

Thanks

The classic stumble and the dreaded 0216 code, sorry to hear that, replace the VP-44, fuel filter, and the lift pump, install a fuel pressure guage wish I could give you a better suggestion.

Save yourself a few bucks and do the fuel filter yourself. The dealer LOVES to screw people out of their hard earned $ (either $40 or $60 to do the change) for something that is so simple.

I agree save the money and do it yourself, however in this case if the dealer does it there is no question if there is a future warranty issue everything is documented.

I just checked my truck for codes and 0216 showed up but truck runs fine no drop in mileage or power and no service light. Could this just be a false code due to the box I have installed or is this the real thing.

I also "hoped" that the fuel filter would do the trick with the code.. no such luck.. gave up the ghost a week later in an intersection on the way to work.. No indication.. was runnin fine except for an occasional dead throttle.. was purrin along.. stopped for a light.. coughed twice.. I said "oh Crap".. died.. no refire.. off to the dealer.. If yer gunna have to bite the bullet.. might as well get it before it gets you.. ie: leaves ya somewhere ya don't wanna be...
Good luck...
