I recently lost 5th gear(not the nut) due to the snap ring coming loose and messing up syncros on lower shaft. I removed the shift fork and syncros and have been driving with 1-4 & reverse. The tranny has been making a clanking(hard to describe) noise in 1st & 2nd when I let off the throttle. What could this be? I still don't know what could've broken the notch that holds the snap ring on the end of the lower shaft. Anyone know what is going on with this??
