grinding in 1st and 2nd nv4500

I just got my truck a week ago, 95 dodge ram 2500, diesel stick, 4x4.
I noticed it for the first time last night on shifting into 2nd there was a horrible grinding nois that last for less than a second.

today when I give a lot of throttle (not jerking the throttle, slowly coming into full throttle) there is a grinding noise in 1st and 2nd. it also someitmes happens when I first shift into those gears. I always start the truck in L

is my tranny going?

last night it wasn't slick out, but today it is. could this be a sound that a limited slip differential would make?

Sorry to hear, I think 4500 is crap and I own one too. I had to get mine replaced at the end of last summer. Better take it in to a tranny shop and bite the bullet.
