Tire air pressure for snow/slush driving - empty box

I'm about to take a trip up through PA this coming weekend and anticipate hitting snow. I'm running 285/75 Michelin LTX M/S on stock steel wheels. If I'm not mistaken the sidewall says MAX 65PSI. What air pressure would you guys run in the front and in the back? I'm not going to be towing, looking for a little smoother ride and better snow/slush traction All I have in the bed is an aluminum truck box right behind the cab and about 100 lbs. of junk in it...

There should be a air pressure page in your owners manual,if you are running around empty I'd say about 60psi front and 50-45psi Rear, now someone will tell you something different, mine allways has several hundred pounds of this or that in the back so I'm no expert
Have a safe trip!

Sounds about right. I run 60/45, front/rear when the bed's empty.

As far as snow, if it's wet and the tires are making it down to the street, you are probably better off running more pressure to decrease your tire footprint and increase psi tire:road. If it's colder and you run on top of the snow, air down to increase footprint.
