Just wondering what you thought of longevity and dependability of the unit.

AND

How you like the feeling of the split gears (do you have the over or under splitter)?

OR

Would you recommend another brand based on price or better results for hauling?

HC:
I'm out of my league here as I have a 96 , but I called Lee at US Gear and was told the US Gear splitter for my 96 would fit the 03 5 speed. Same spline. I've had mine 3 years and in that time I have fried one but that was on me. $900 exchange. I am so used to towing with mine if I do get a new truck this one will go into the new truck. I don't want a 6 speed so the swap is just that. A swap. I can keep all my shifts in a 600 rpm range. That takes a lot of stress off the drive line and keeps the engine in the power band.

I don't leave home with out it. Oh yeah! Its an OD. ;D

..Preston..

How are you shifting when loaded?

I am thinking you may skip a few gears in the options.

1
2
3
3over
4
4over
5

How does it work when you actually shift the tranny with the stick, does the OD unit automatically fall back to normal gearing or do you need to select normal or over.
