no high idle

I took my truck into the dealer to have the high idle enabled. Well after three trys by the dealer to make it work they finally told me today that it would not work with my power enhancements (drag comp). I DONT BELIEVE IT! Do you?

They claim my computer says its still enabled but for some reason it dont work.

Thanks Mooseman

No, I don't believe it either.
Did it ever work, or is this your first attempt at activating it?

I know it took 3 trips to the Dealer before they got it right on mine, and clicked the "yes" box.

They wouldn't let me in the shop to "supervise", so I told the service writer to send the tech out,
and I went over the TSB step by step, telling him mine was a 2002, so it wouldn't need the software upgraded,
just steps 7 through 17, with step 14 and 15 highlited and underlined.

13. 3.3 CYLINDER IDLE - Follow the instructions
The DRB III will indicate whether the feature is enabled or disabled.
14. Push 1 to Enable, 2 to Disable.

15. You are instructed to cycle the ignition to complete the repair. (I think the DRB says to do this)

16. Press Page Back to Exit. (implies the DRB must still be hooked up and active after the ignition cycling)

Those steps are the important ones.
The TSB is written in such a way, that it seems those steps are only required for the 3 cyl idle function, but no,
the "enable/disable" is for the whole high idle activation.

Here's the TSB so you can print out a fresh copy to take with you.

I left the truck unplugged the next cold morning to double check everything, and it worked just like it was supposed to.
If the truck is plugged in it doesn't work.

Even after showing them how to do their job, they still wanted to charge me $90 bucks for the 5 minutes of their time,
I talked them into .5 hours, so $45.
I even had it in there for an oil change, and tranny service, but still they charged me.
