1999 Dodge diesel starts then stall

My 1999 Dodge cummins just started to do this. When first starting after a few days of inactivity the diesel starts then stalls out. it will start again after a few seconds of cranking and is ok after that. I have 135 k miles and the truck is in excellant condition. Changed fuel filter about 10k. Any Ideas?

You posted in the wrong forum (1st generation, 89-93), but I think you could have air in your fuel system, or an air leak, after you swapped out fuel filters.

ditto on the air..most likely is the filter housing.
I just went through this my self.. since I was running a AD with the stock filter housing..I removed this last..all has been fine since. it was worse if I parked nose up..

I'm having the same problem but I'm thinking its the heater grid. I'm going to run it soon and see if the headlights dim like they used to when the heater cycles. If so there is a load on the electrical and the grid is prolly OK, I'm thinking.
