why wont my truck start?

i have been having problems recently starting my truck. the problem is when i turn the key to crank it over after heating my grids i just get a click. and its not a click,click,click...like the stater its just one solid click each time i turn the key.when this first started happening if i tried it a couple times it would crank but now it wont it just clicks.i tried cleaning the cables going to the starter, and also on the batt and my starter was rebiult less then 5 months ago. i have narrowed the click down to what i think is a starter relay?(if there is such a thing) on the drivers side fender.also i tried adding more juice to the batt via jumper cables from my little car(1989 dodge omni...woohoo) but it did not help at all...so what do yall think?

Check the cables for voltage drop.

You might take a look at the starter contacts. Check out http://www.fostertruck.com/dodge/

Remove starter and take it back to the rebuilder it has open armature or stuck brushes. You can try tapping it with hammer next time that will usually get you started. Turn your headlight on when you try to start, if they dim your starter is shorted. If they don't dim you have open in armature or brushes sticking. Could also have bad solenoid even though you hear it clicking. Either way take it back to rebuilder. Good luck.

Check for voltage at the starter solenoid before starting. If you got good power there (~12-13 volts), Check at the starter while having someone attempt to turn it over. If it has little to no voltage drop, pull the starter. If it drops (to say ~9-10 or less), check the solenoid while starting. If voltage drops there, check at the battery while starting. If voltage is good at the solenoid, pull the starter. If it drops at the battery, it's probably bad. If battery voltage is good, I'd say replace the cables. Like wanna said, you need to look for voltage drop.
