why not 700r4
why not 700r4
has anyone tried a 700r4 in their truck? i know the 4bt had th400 and the 700 has same bolt pattern. it has lock-up, can be built to handle the torque. instead of building our factory non lock-up. i would really like to have lock-up.
just a thought..

It would be easier to get the 1994-95' 47RH, no elect. control required. 47RE if you can afford a computer/controller.
The 700R can be adapted but you need the GM engine adapter and the GM adapter is a harder to find part than the Ford or Dodge. Then fabrication of crossmember etc, where the Dodge would require little fab. Another problem in my opinion is the wave ring for the torque converter, cheesy at best, cheese factor fifteen...

The 700r4 can be built to handle some good torque but I don't see it holding up to the high torque the cummins can put out. The 4L80e would do ok with a stand alone computer. 47RH is best bet.
