I am looking for shocks For my conversion this spring. I know Bilsteins are supposed to best but at $81.00 plus shipping they are too expensive right now.

I run Ranchos all the way around, including the steering dampener. They are 13 years old now and are probably getting a little tired...Mark

KYBs. Used them as the OEM diameter was preferable rather than the heavy duty larger ones because I was looking for a smoother ride. Almost 40K and no leaks and still ride fine.

Probably a government one,
I'll bet you.

Has anyone ever tried these shocks?

Years ago used to put 4-Way shocks on ambulances and medic vans to control the dip when it crossed the intersection.
Does anyone still make a heavy duty oil shock?

I have Rancho's on the crewcab. Only because they were recommended by the spring shop I got the parabolic front springs from. He told me that either Bilstein, or Rancho, would compliment those front springs the best.

I think the Bilsteins are fairly priced for what you are getting. I have them all the way around and they improved the ride greatly.

Yeah they are good shocks for sure. But my problem is I have spent so much on parts for my 4X4 conversion. that for now It is less expensive shocks or none at all. and I will need tires soon too. Plus this is my normal daily driver.

We are discussing shock options for the 1st gens with the leaf sprung front ends…Are you referring to your 2nd gen with the coil spring front end?
