Finally got around to getting my 60# valve springs installed. Along with a fresh valve adjustment, it is noisier but runs smoother.

Drove the brick past this, and you know I just had to stop.

It's a North Carolina rig, 1999, 24 valve, 5 speed stick. Bed is about a year or so old, 5th wheel, and pretty original, and mud tires

That would make a sweet winter truck, and I'd drive the heck out of it as well.

Well, last weekend I had to repair a fuel leak the seemed to develop after I installed a new Cummins transfer pump, for some reason it started leaking between the fuel filter and heater, I had a Geno's adapter ready and just removed the fuel heater all together. Hay, it's only a 2WD and I never drive it in winter so no need for the heater. I drove it around a bit and believe I will need to put injectors in it to get the rough running issues off idle fixed. It sat for 18 years and since then I got it running have only run 1 tank of diesel thru it, it's not wanting to clean up.

I would load that 2wd up with some good weight, then get out on the Hwy for a good long run to get everything hot....might help clean/clear up the rough running? I know my truck runs smoother after a long drive pulling weight.

Do you think 800 pounds is enough, I have a 300 FORD 6 and two old Onan generators in the back of it now?

If you can throw in a little bit more and go for a good long drive...I would want to go for at least an hour one way or longer, then turn around and come back. Make sure to run fresh fuel and don't forget some 2 cycle oil and/or some other lubricity additive. I use Power service additive, and sometimes toss in a bit of 2 cycle oil....use about 1/2 ounce per gallon of either.

I have had my eye on it for a number of years, it's been sitting on the next street down, I finally talked to the guy last year and agreed on a $1,500.00 price and I dragged it home. Now a work ion progress.

That's a heck of a great price! The engine alone is worth that. And you got the frame and body to boot!

Have we seen pics of it yet ?

I cannot recall.

But then again, I can't remember how to find my way home sometimes, either.

Sorry, I guess I should have written something before loading pictures as I could not figure out how to add text after I loaded. These are the only pictures I have at this time other than numerous engine only shots. 89 LE350
