What did you do to your Gen 1 today?

They do not last very long, even with new door pins and bushings the strikes get chewed up.
I am sure it is probably because the latch is worn out,
I am going to see if a new pin can be machined so I can use a replacement derlin bushing.
Do you see any reason a 7/16 hex head cap bolt could not be machined down and used as a pin?
Just looking for a pin with an actual bushing and not what looks like a single wrap of tape.
The replacement pins don't seem to be over grade-5.

Drank some S. Carolina moonshine tonight as a neighbor dinner gathering. 29 years since I had any . I remember now why I don't drink hard liquor. My god this sucks monkey boogers. I'm Not drunk. a buddy and I were riding around in his '70 Charger a year or so after we graduated, and he asked me if I wanted to try some vodka.....pretty good. he said finish the bottle (small bottle). I know he took me home.....and he had to have helped me inside.....after that....no knowledge. I woke up the next morning and had a head the size of the moon. I was cooking at a local restaurant, and it just happened to be liver and onions on special that day.....after the third trip to Ralph mu guts up.....my boss said maybe I should go home. That was over 30 years ago and I haven't touched vodka since.
