thrashingcows, you’re my hero.

So today, I had to take our “special” employee on the job with me, because his 1/2 ton 05 Silveraydo blew a tranny and his rear end exploaded all in the same night..... It’s been dead in front of our shop for a month, so I had to show him what a real truck runs like. So, I told him to get in the back of the crew cab, and keep quiet. I’ve left my passenger seat out for the past month, just for him.... but wouldn’t ya know, my LF wheel bearing (2nd gen front axle) decided to go out. So I dropped him off, beat feet to the JY, and grabbed a nice tight wheel bearing with a good rotor for $26.

Why is there a dead guy in the back seat if your rig?

Is that what you fellas do out there to keep people from stealing your rides?

Well, I guess I'll be using the brick to clean up some properties this weekend..

Me thinks it's too warm (the ground) for anything to stick, but time will tell, eh ?

Maybe I'll get some "workin" shots for Mr. Fusion.

Finished my cargo lamp bracket. Dropped it off at the powder coating co.

Need to see how I'm going to wire it, as I don't want to overload the wiring in the roof area. Trying to get the specs on these units is a pita.

He falls asleep standing up, in mid-conversation!!! Kids these days I swear. I hit the driveway at about 30 MPH and he almost cracked his head on his knee... the day before, I cut into a dirt field and he woke up with me doing donuts. Ever hear a 30 year old wake up from a dead sleep in the middle of a 4th gear donut? We need a new guy at work....

I had that happen in my old Belvedere as I rolled through a stop sign in front of a cop in my hometown. I knew him and he let me slide because it was a mechanical problem evidenced by the trail of brake fluid coming from the left front. That was before redundant front/rear systems when I was 17.

That doesn't sound good. Ever been checked for Narcolepsy ? or sleep apnea ?

or

Tell him to stop smoking weed, and playing video games all night long, instead of a good nights rest...

Looks like they're calling for a little more than originally expected.

I have tuned up the snow blower, fueled the truck, plow attached, shovels sprayed with silicone, and ready to go.

This means we get no snow tomorrow

Just be thankful you don't live in Ventura.

Since my wheel bearing escapade yesterday, my brakes felt a little goofy. Since my master cylinder is the one that came on my 73 when I bought it 3 years ago (and I have no idea when it was last replaced), I picked one up at Vatozone and swapped it before running service calls..... and of course, mine had backwards ports and the new one didn’t. I found out when I went for a test drive and the rears would lock up and the front had hardly any power. I had bled the brakes the day before, and bled them again after replacing the master. Then had to cut the 2 main hard lines and swap the fittings, re-flare them and re-bleed the system again. I’ve gone through 3 big bottles of DOT-3 in 2 days. This weekend, I’ll be re-making one of the main lines and bleeding it again, once I get some more DOT-3..... maybe I should do the Chevy rear wheel cylinder upgrade while I’m at it, so I don’t have to bleed them for the 27th time.... I need a beer.

Are you using the clear tube and bottle technique?

Are you sure all fittings are sealed right, and not sucking air?

The replacement master is new or rebuilt?

I assume bench bled? Did you bench bleed and depress plunger full depth, or partial depth when on the bench?

Lots of silly little details that make or brake these systems.

NJT, I know you love that white stuff. Hopefully, for your sake, you get a little to play in. I've been in Georgia for a while, and I ain't missing winter.
