It was 54* this morning when I decided to double check my valves, since I’d just adjusted them the other day. I had a tank top and boxer shorts on, but I don’t think the neighbors paid any attention to me. I had a ticking sound and the motor seemed slightly off. I thought I may have a small crack starting in the exhaust manifold....well, sure enough, I had 1 intake valve at about .005 and another at .015. WOOPS! Reset them, popped the valve covers back on and what do ya know? It was quiet....for a rattle box of an engine! Drove about 90 miles today and everything was great. Especially rolling 70mph with the windows down on an 80* day. I think I’m going to miss this Southern California weather a little, when I move 1400 miles East.
What's your destination? Permanently moved? Or temporary?

It is definitely worth the move. Kalifornia is going down the toilet fast. It will get much worse when Gaven Newsom is selected Governor. hope you escape the proposed "exit tax".

Shooting for Mountain Home Arkansas. Definitely permenant! Told the wife on the day I met her, “I have no intention of staying in this state forever.” When she asked me where I wanted to go, I said “any state East of New Mexico. Pick one, I’ll adapt”. She said she’d never leave...until I took her there. Hopefully most of us that leave the state, continue going to Oregon.
[QUOTE=mknittle;3338834]Let's keep the politics out of the forums please, Thank You ...Mark In Southern California, everyone makes fun of people from the other 49 states. The other 49 states, make fun of people from California... I’ll take a little weather. Plus, hunting and fishing will be a LOT better!
Ok guys, there is another forum for this, Let's keep it civil...Mark
Yeah, what Mark said...
And in addition, if your going to go all "uncivilized". Make sure you include pictures of your truck, to keep it on topic...
You know, if you run over a far lefty on your way out of Commiefornia, include a snapshot of the carnage so no one thinks you're getting out of line with the overall theme of this thread...

I didn't say anything against anybody. I don't understand why you got offended.
Started cleaning the bottom and panting before I install the cab Installing a 4” exhaust figuring out what is going to take to clear the g56 transfer case is father back
Changed the oil from the spring/summer Rotella T4 15W40 to the winter Rotella T6 5W40.
In the land-o-liberals in SoCal we're lucky if it gets down to 50 so I don't bother with that lightweight oil. We have Santa Ana winds lately and the temps have been in the 70's so we didn't bother with jackets when we took the truck out shopping. Had to limp back home though when it lost power above 1200 RPM.
No jacket at 70*....hahahaha....that's friggin summer weather up here. I'd be in flip flops, T-shirt and shorts.....
Decided last night to also do another valve adjustment after I realized while doing a valve adjustment on my quad that I perhaps had been reading my feeler gauges wrong. I also realized after watching some vids of 12V valve adjustment, that I had been doing the companion/rocker method incorrectly.
So turns out I had my feeler gauges correct, and even though I had done the valve adjustment when lining the motor up incorrectly, they were all pretty much where they should be. One or two were a tad on the loose side, but over all they were well within spec.
