What did you do to your Gen 1 today?
y'all think the gasser radiator is ok for the 6bt?
Yes it will be fine even towing.
Just remember it's 50/50 and not shine that goes in there.

i'm still figuring out the front end. need to find out if any 2500/3500 parts will bolt up. if so, i have no problem replacing everything with heavier stuff. if not, i'll just be replacing everything with new Moog parts as well as heavier rate springs and some good shocks. this will be strictly a grocery getter/commuter vehicle and won't tow, so hopefully the front end holds up.

Finally got some time to work on the old thing again today. Spent the afternoon swapping the valve springs to the 60# springs, while I was in there I replaced the stem seals then ran the overhead. Need to look into it again in the morning, as I have a slight ticking now. I either didn't get a valve right or the name plate is rattling on the covers.
With the engine and transmission out of mine, I put my recently purchased pressure washer to good use to clear the bottom side of the cab and front frame rails of grease and grime that had collected over the many years on the road. It worked very well. What an awesome machine!! Needless to say, without any coveralls or a Tyvek suit, I needed a pressure washing afterwards.

on the up side it will be sooo much nicer to work on.
I'm in the 'negotiation" phase with a local car lot. I found an entire set of the old metal ramps they used to drive cars on for display in the woods behind their shop. If I can snag them, it will make the pressure washing SO much easier!
As to the 89, I filled the tank and washed the bird poop off of it.........
I would love to find some of those too!
Finished assembling the VE pump and torqued all the exterior bolts.
I found a online Nissan manual with a flagrant copy of the bosch VE which has all those figures as well as great step by step instructions.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll get it back into he truck and then next day the rest of the coolant system back together.

They are listed here.
The one at the bottom labeled 3of3 is what you want and VE pump starts at page 44.

Yesterday I pulled out my oil cooler to change the gaskets, only to find cummins sent me the wrong one for the inner. So I took down the front cover to change crank seal and tab the kdp. While doing that I found my water pump bearing to be headed south, as well as the fan hub bearing, and the damper didn't look so great.
So today I ordered a fluidamper, the fan hub bearing and warrentied the water pump. Then since its down for a few days, I started pulling the left side down to change the tappet cover gasket.

Today I made big dump run...1500lbs of leftovers and discards from two bathroom renos and other home projects. Been building up for a few months.
Then came home a took a load of scrap metal...man not worth much these days. Same load last year would have got me close to $100...today I got $11!
Then had diner and gave Ol' Patches a bath.
