I was under the impression that anything over a 50/50 mix of W/M you had to worry about predetination and possible head gasket issues. I just read an issue of diesel builder where they did a W/M install on a newer cummins and when they dynoed it they used a "Hot" mix of 70 meth/30 water. This made huge gains of about 100hp and 165ft/lbs at the wheels. This is pretty major. What would be considered safe or even reasonable.(nothings really THAT safe) I have head studs and fire rings but what about burning pistons, bending rods, etc.

 

what do you gains with yours?
i saw 63hp 113tq and have since switched to a larger nozzle... that's on 50/50
i should be at 75hp maybe 125-140tq? i seem to remember a member a while back showing pictures of a splattered piston at the track when he tried a heavy mix of meth.

 

More HP is possible but at a risk.

 

I just went out and tried my 60meth/40water mix. Seemed to run just fine. No funny sounds at higher rpm. I realize more timing would make things worse but I am only running a 1/8" bump. Others please post your results.

 

Must be a fairly consistent system as I gained 63rwhp also. I am using a Snow Stage 2 with two 625ml nozzles.

 

I also have the Snow stage 2 and 2-625ml nozzles. I havent dynoed it but I assume my gains would be similar, however if for track days and dyno runs an extra 40hp over that could be had it would be great. I find it hard to believe no one has tried.(except maybe the guy with the splattered piston )

 

Ok i did a tad of testing, your not going to see 100 hp, it will ignite long before it should and that means damage is possible and no perf increase to speak of. LMAO my homemade set micia is running gives better hp gains than the snow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ok im happy
