I have a 92 dodge diesel and it wont crank let alone even start. I was driving and it just shut off, towed it to the house and have been trying to figure out the problem. It gets power to the ignition switch but not back out from it, i replaced the switch, you can get the truck to crank by putting a paperclip from plug to another on the harness but when you turn the key, nothing. The wait to start and water in fuel lights dont come on either. Any ideas? thanks mike

Mine did that once...one of the wires that connects to the shut down silenoid came off...pluged it back in and I was on my way.. I wish that all fixes were that easy.

Take a real close look at the connectors in the harness... make sure one of the terminals hasn't slipped out part way, especially on the red wire which supplys battery power. Also check the mechanical linkage going to the switch. A cheap ohm/volt meter comes in very handy in troubleshooting electrical problems. Other things to check include the clutch switch, and the start relay.
