Stock Nonintercooled injectors?
Hey guys, I always have a dumb question to ask from time to time, so try to be patient. From what I understand, the 89-91 nonintercooled engines have larger injectors than the 91-93 intercooled engines do. I have been thinking that if I could get a hold of a set for a very reasonable price, it may be a cheap upgrade. Has anyone swapped these onto their intercooled engine, and if so, what were the results? Also what is the part number of them? (theyre not 190s, are they) If they do not make a noticeable difference, then I will not bother, but if there is a reasonable lift in performance, they might be worth it. I don't need too much more power, so I was thinking that this might be a much cheaper alternative to 190s or PODs.
thanks

The non-intercooled injectors have a 9mm nozzle on them while the intercooled ones have a 7mm nozzle so therefore the early injectors wont fit into an intercooled head.
BTW, you can get POD's on ebay for $320, not too expensive in my book.

Rockjeep73 is correct the non-ics are a 9mm head while the intercooled are 7mm and without machining the holes bigger with I highly don't recommend they will not fit. It can only go reverse, ic injectors in a non ic truck with a adapter tip.

I see. Thanks anyway for the replys. I might look at ebay, because i have seen some fairly cheap on there before. Of course, I may be replacing the rear main and maybe doing something with the tranny at the same time, so injectors will be on the back burner. And, of course, you can buy alot of beer and ammo for $300+ And I'm in college, so I'm relatively broke.

I tried working during the school year, i'd rather be broke. My summer job and cattle give me just enough to get by, with a little to waste. Problem is, wasting money on my pickup is addictive!
27 hp doesn't sound too bad, I am just looking for a mild improvment, if its very cheap. But, since it will not work anyway, I might as well wait and have a little more power.

i think he means he has another truck which is a 90, probably a parts truck to him or he just doesn't really drive it. Pretty sure he doesn't own a scrap yard
