stans exhaust

Hello, I decided to ditch my stock exhaust system this year and was wondering how many of you have bought the stans 4 inch system. Does it need a lot of work to fit or is it a true bolt on system? How much louder if any is the muffler over a stock one? Oh yeah what does it cost to ship this thing? Also were you happy with the system? Thanks again and later

I just installed Stan's kit a few months ago. For an extended cab it is a true bolt in. On a 2wd truck it's even easier. (If you've got a 4X4 be prepaired to test fit and twist the junctions before clamping or welding for clearance.) I had to cut about two feet off of one of the pipes. Sawzall did the job. I also had to have the tailpipe hanger welded onto the new system. I got mine without the muffler. Nothing sweeter than a straight pipe Cummins in the morning! Shipping depends on where you are. Stan's is located in WA I believe. I emailed him about shipping costs before ordering and he promptly responded with the price. Stan's is a very classy outfit. I couldn't be happier! I just wish our first gen 4" turbo back exhausts were as cheap and plentiful as the second gen stuff.

I've got stan's exhaust too. I ordered the whole kit minus the muffler and a 4' piece of straight pipe that went from the muffler to the tailpipe. I had some extra sitting around so why pay for more!? It was a true bolt on for my 2 wheel drive single cab besides the fabbing I did with the extra pipe I had sitting around (Just had to make a couple hangers because normally, one comes on their muffler). Absolutely love it! Sounds amazing and is quality stuff.

How long does it last not being stainless??? That's the only hang up I have. I found 4" stainless from the down pipe back, for $505, guess then you could order a 4" down pipe from stan's huh?? Just curious.

Regular aluminized exhaust lasts a long time on a diesel, there's no need to spend the money on stainless. Diesel exhaust is relatively cool and very dry compared to a gasser, so it doesn't tear up an exhaust system every couple years.

Very happy with Stan's 4" turbo back w/ Donaldson muffler. Sounds great, runs great. What more can I say? Oh, installation was a breeze too.
