Speedometer Sensor Drive Gear Needed

Hello
I recently went out and bought a 93 d250 5spd. It was pretty ugly, was an old ranch pickup, and me and my brother decided we'd try and really make it nice. I have an old w250 gas frame and body out behind the barn that we plan on using for a donor. But anyway, the speedo and odometer didn't work when I got it, and after we had it all apart I looked under the cab and find that the speedo sender device, the one with the little gears in it that convert the little square drive to electricity and send it to the speedo, was just out and sitting in the crossmember covered in dirt. Well, that presented the problem pretty clearly, but I decided to remove the drive gear from the tail housing of the trans to double check. Turns out, that plastic gear had just rounded off and not turning anymore I figure. It is a bluish colored gear if I'm not mistaken, ill put the picture here. But I cannot find it anywhere online. All I seem to find are the 4wd gears. I have found a few threads and actually thought I found it at drivetrain.com, but turns out that was the 4wd gear as well. So I am stumped as to where to find this part. Whats worse is that this is not the only hard part to find, I can't find a new sending unit either so I'm having to go a new route with my broken return line fitting on top of the unit. But anyway, does anybody have an idea of where to find this gear?

Sorry about the shirt . Haha. But this green gear is rounded off here.

The nasty VSS?? I think thats the name

Where it was sitting when I pulled the cab

Impossible to find 2wd speedo assemblies?...I got that.

Fuel sending units without the cracked nipples....I got those too.

I have most of the "impossible" to find 1st gen parts in my shop.
PM if you like.

On the left is the typical 4X4 set up, on the right the typical 4X2 set up. Either of which is getting harder to find. The speed sensor (VSS) is still available at Napa. The driven gear, the part that's worn out on yours is the problem. You will need to check the transmission parts places or salvage yards.

How frustrated can you be when I told you 20 minutes ago, I have both of the hard to find parts you are looking for in my shop??

PM me if you would like to discuss buying them and becoming less frustrated.

It's that aged garlic you put on your mustard and onion sandwiches...Makes a good bite repellent......Ben

Go ahead and pm him. Just click on his name above and then click send massage. I just sent him one, so if his box was full, it is not now...Mark

Sorry I have been taking a few days "off" to wrench on my trucks in the shop and have been super busy. I have not had much time for DTR.
I am trying to get the black crew cab ready for the trip to the Carlisle show and a few other trucks worth of issues worked out.

PM me what transmission style you need for the speedo sender....2wd or 4x4...?
Thanks!
