Question Need a new clutch looking for recommendations.

So I’ve had my truck all redone and on the road for about a week now with a getrag 360 and showing off to one of my buddy’s I floored it going into a hill and the clutch slipped bad I mean real bad. Again I drive it and try my luck again just screwing around and slippage in 4+5th gear when you quick give it fuel. Now I have built this truck to be pulling around 20,000 lbs as it’s got a class 8 registration and my concern being that pulling a hill with 20,000 lbs and having to quick give it fuel to shift up or down in 3-5 it’s going to slip real bad. It’s got a lot of work done to the pump and I’m thinking injectors plus a BHAF and hx35 the 35 and BHAF I put on the pump was done by the po. Now valair sells a 600hp ceramic on ceramic clutch and a ceramic on Kevlar/natural for 500hp. The odd part being that the ceramic on ceramic is $200 cheaper. With that in mind would a ceramic on ceramic be ok for driving back and forth to school stopping at 4/5 red lights and picking up hay with a lot of stops and starts or do I want something with less grab? The original oem clutch has 300,000 on so it’s getting time anyhow. What are everyone’s recommendations it’s still driveable and I’m not out just abusing it but my buddy is a 7.3 or nothing guy and I had him just about sold on a dodge until the slippage 5th gear being the easiest to slip it in with very little quick throttle push to get it to slip.

I can't believe nobody's rung in on this yet. I got mine a couple years ago from RockAuto https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...411&cc=1087006

It's a 13 inch heavy duty kit and works fine so far. I haven't done any heavy hauling with it other than my trucks 5500 # empty weight along with my dead A$$. :-) A lot of people talk about SouthBend as being premium but I have zero experience with them. I shop for price as much as anything else though. YMMV

I put in a center force clutch about 17 years ago. It is apparently only a 12 inch clutch, but it hasn't slipped once in all of those years. If you do a search there have been several threads on clutches, with,as you might imagine, some, let's say "brisk" discussions...Mark

I throw South Bend Clutches in almost all the builds that I work on.
I have had great luck with them and they are a good company to deal with.
