Skyjacker Springs Sag

i first installed my 8in lift Dec 07 and about may08 the front drivers side spring was about an inch lower, oh yeah and this is with out ever taking it off roading!!! i called skyjacker & they were cool about it told me to just take it to the dealer i got it from so i did. Dealer traded me a new one & i was on my way. It's now been about 3months and its happening again on the new spring(front drivers)!! What tha beep is going on! my truck has no frame damage or nothing and before i installed the new spring i also took the pass side out to compare them and they were dead even, havent called skyjacker yet but was wondering if anyone had this problem before and how they fixed it. Even if skyjacker trades me a new one again I just lost faith in them man! this Sucks!!!

Well, I just went through the same thing but with a set of 2.5 springs.. They weren't so cool with me... After a lot of back and forth stuff, I finally got a new set of springs... they were much better but I had to make a 1/2" block that I pinned to the drivers side pack to make it level.. Their answer to the problem is that the driver and the fuel tanl add so much weight that the springs sag... But, I had about 3 gallons of fuel and no passanger and it looked like my frame was bent... Personally I think they got something going on in quality control myself.... I've had custom springs made that were better!!

Here is a thread to show what I was dealing with..

same thing here, 2.5 springs, about 3/8 lower on the driver side. same in the rear, have brand new springs in the back also. not sure if is lousy dodge engineering or what. i put a new underbox on the passenger side, loaded with hand tools, chains, probally about 175lbs, helped a bit. The rear of the truck used to be 1.5 inches off, it blew my mind, really botherd me, now only about .5, not so noticable. since the skyjackers are only a 5 leaf, i m eventually going to put in a good adaleaf, and drop pitmanarm, hopefully helps.

I don't know why one side would be sagging, but both should sag. The 8" springs are rated for the gas trucks. 6 is the tallest that they rate for the Cummins.

i just checked the skyjacker site & your rite about no 8in for the cummins, i guess they sold me 8in gasser springs! but still doesnt explain the sagging on one side, gotta start saving for some custom springs

I have been running the 8" "gas" springs for about 3 years now .. no problems whatsoever ..

I also run half ton lift kits on 1 ton and 3/4 ton 2nd gen dodges with no sagging or offroad problems

this is a sad thing with the skyjacker springs sagging, I installed there 6 inch
system 8 years ago and my truck sits the same now as it did 8 years ago,
what they have done is cut some corners on quality to save on manufacturing
costs, its a shame, shelby

I had the same thing in my 2nd gen with Skyjacker D25 coils. The driver side eventually started to sag. I think they have one set for 1500/2500/3500's.
I ended up going with much better custom springs that weren't much more expensive. PM for more details.
