Got'em Skyjacker springs....

It's been a qhile since a post. I recieved my front springs and bushings last week and looking to get the project rolling. I bought the 1" lift, I know everyone thinks that is too little but it needs to fit in the garage. I am wondering if y'all have any suggestions and or tips before I get started, things to look for or things I should do while down there. Any help would as always be a great help.

FYI they cost about $128 a piece plus bushings from Summit pt# SJA-D100CS.

Hi Paul,

When I look those springs up on Summitracing.com,they come-up at 149.00 dollars apiece.
Do you have a way of getting a discount? Or did you just order them by phone?

Thanks,

Vinny

I purchased the 4" lift kit complete with Front & Rear springs. I think the front were a piece of cake compared to the rear. You shouldn't have any problems. I replaced with all new bolts also instead of using the existing ones. The rear were a little bit of a pain because of the jacking the truck up or not. Truck was high enough as it was so to lift the frame that much more was pushing my car jack to the max. But it worked and everything working great now. Just fine tuning the Pinion Angle to get rid of some vibration upon take off.

Hey Nutty,

If you don't mind me askin'...

Where did you get your kit,and how much was it?

What all comes in the kit?

What did you have to buy separately?

All told, how much did your lift set you back?

I bought the kit from SkyJacker.com. It did come complete with new front & Rear springs, blocks for the rear to replace original blocks, all poly bushings, shocks all around. I also purchased the extra drop down pitman arm and adj. drag link. I forget the exact price but somewhere in the $ 1100 range. I was quoted at a spring shop for $ 900 just to replace the original springs with original springs and nothing else. So I thought it was a good fair deal since it included a lot more and it is a slightly softer ride due to 1 missing spring compared to the original springs (7).

Vinny, I misplaced my sales slip but I guess you are closer to the actual price, sorry I mispoke. The whole order, (2) springs with bushings was around $320.
Nutty, do you have any tips for installation, like how long will I be without a ride, remember I am only doing the front at first and it is only an inch, or things to watch for?
Thanks,

With only doing the front springs for now. I would assume it would take about 1 hour each side, if all goes ok. If you burn the bushings out and commit yourself to the project, it may take less. The biggest problem is just getting the old bolts and bushings out. Burn the rubber which looses the bolt and cut the bolt off is the worse case scenario but quickest. Just make sure you have the proper bolts to replace it, grade 8. Maybe take the extra time now and run a quick wire brush over the parts and paint them.

Worse case, down a truck for 1/2 a day.

Good luck and keep us posted.
