Saving a '91.0 W-250
-32c not cold to you? Come on now.. It has been -13c here for a couple days, and my nose tingles from frostbite when I'm outside for more than 20 minutes.
Even my dogs run out to poop, pee and run back inside as soon as they get the last drop out. All except for my 16 + year old beagle. She pees outside, but then refuses to poop. Since we can't have her out long because of the cold, I'm always ready for the paper plate "catch the beagle poop" lunge, while I sit and watch tv. I've gotten pretty fast at getting that paper plate under her, so it doesn't land on the floor.

I'm out all night working in this weather, standing for an hour or more, nose gets a bit cold...hands and fingers are the worst though. As for what I find cold.....Getting into the negative 30's and if there is a wind pushing the temps to negative 40's then that's a tad chilly.
I can handle the cold up to about -25*C or so in my shorts and hoodie and knitted cap, for about 30-45 min....if I'm out much longer then that I really need to start thinking about pants and a heavier jacket. IF I plan on working out there I always bundle up....but that's just the addition tof some heavy cotton coveralls really....the same attire beneath.

My Father was a full blooded Danish man.....so I think the viking blood is thick in this one.....
I usually put up my motorcycle at 8*f or -13c, thats what it was a few nights ago whan I decided to start driving the truck.
by the way I need way more clothes than TC, must not much Viking in me.

Another -20F* morning to high of -5 day. I am not like TC I wore flannel lined Carhartt pants.
After days of working to get other people's plow trucks back on the road, I actually got a few hours uninterrupted to work on Poncho.
The HX-35 turbo is installed and oil lines in place. I got the '94-'97 style intercooler mounted where I want it so I could test fit and trim a tiny bit of the lower valance panel for proper clearance. The grille will fit with very minor trimming for the lower and outer most screw mounts where it attaches to the lower valance. The secondary hood latch with need to be trimmed, cut down and welded up too make it what I want.

Basically.
Char. was babysitting again yesterday, so when I got her at dinner time I just showed her what I did and got her approval.
Today she will get the "job" of dabbing some primer and paint on the core support with a Q-tip. I drilled out a couple of bolt holes to hold the intercooler and opened up two of the screw holes for the overflow tank for the Rad. and will use longer bolts to attach the tank.. I did that too allow a bit of room for a bolt head behind it to hold the intercooler.
The lower valance panel, I ground for clearance, will also need a little paint and primer dabbed on it.
I am making a black tea and we are headed out to the shop for a little quality time.

We made some head way yesterday.
We got the core support and valance panel, dabbed with paint and the front end all re-installed. We even figured out a way to use a '92-'93 style center core support brace on the earlier core support.
The '92-'93 center brace left just enough space for the 2nd gen I/C. We installed the center brace with two 2nd gen Radiator bushings and a few 2nd G. fender spacer washers to make up for the missing bracket on the bottom that the earlier core support doesn't have. I bolted it up on top like factory with one extra fender spacer washer.
Char. was in charge of finding the right length and thread pitch bolt for the bottom brace bolt. I armed her with the thread pitch tool out of the tap and die set and set her loose on the misc bolt box. She then ran a tap into it to clean it up, before install.
I used two more 2nd gen radiator bushings for the upper mount on the I/C. Char. pried out the inner metal bushing so I could grind it down a 1/8 to get the I/C at just the right place and give me just a little more clearance for the core support center brace.
I used 2nd gen radiator bolts to bolt it up on top using the mounting holes on the 2nd gen I/C.
I sent some pictures to T-Man who might find the time to post some of them up for you DTR'er to see.
Augie, I see no way to not trim down the secondary hood latch.
I have the I/C mounted as low as possible. The back of the outlet tubes on the I/C almost touch the inner fender now. I actually spaced it up 1/8 inch extra on a spare rubber bushing to add a little more inner fender clearance so the boots don't rub on it.
No little Mopar tech. helper today...
Just me and the dogs are headed out the shop to see what we can come up with for I/C tubes. That is after we stoke up the stove. I has warmed up to a -18F* morning here up after about a week of -20 mornings.
It is the last day of the year....make sure to do something fun.

I sent you a step by step tutorial via email on how to upload your photos to dtr with a photo resizer app.
Ill walk you through it on the phone if necessary. Not to derail this thread, ill post the pictures you just sent for you.
