Question Rear gear cooler

Whats the opinion, anybody use one?Would a cooler prolong the life of the rear end seals.I realize that it would be nessary to put in a pump that could handle hot gear oil, like something in a stock car.

Stock cars are running 700 plus horse power at 200 mph for 500 miles. Until I can make that much power and tow a fiver for 1000 miles at 110 mph I wouldn't waste my money. That's my two cents worth. I feel there are better places to spend the money, like a more efficent torque converter, transmission upgrades with an external cooler and put synthetic fluids in the tranny and rear end. The synthetics will lower your temps 25 to 50 degrees and provide less fluid friction which translates to better fuel mileage.

There are aluminum finned diff covers that you can get that would take care of the problem.

A cooler wouldn't do anything for the hub seals. Might help with the pinion seal. Like Boatnik said, run synthetic and don't worry about it.
