Pump rebuild

to the folks that made these threads right here, I say thank you! I gotta admit, this job intimidated me a bit. This was my first time doing it but using these threads right here, i was able to get it done. I'm posting this to hopefully inspire someone else to tackle the job themselves instead of paying a shop 500-800 bucks to do it for you. Bought the DGK-121 Bosch seal kit from my local injection shop for $21. ran into some broken springs which cost me another $50, but hey, she's all done now. took me about 3 hours start to finish, not including beer and bathroom breaks. I think i could do it quicker next time.

this is what you don't want to find in your pump.

Woof! Glad it worked out for you. That's on my list eventually.

Those broken springs are actually a lot more common the people think. Glad you got it done.

Curious as to what the signs are in driveability a when these springs get damaged. Fuel leaks at pump? More damage to the pump? Fonder, what signs were showing that prompted you to repair n reseal your pump?

I would venture to say that leaks would prompt a reseal....

I bought a truck with the pump removed. Kid said truck ran but had no power and pump was leaking. Just about every o ring in this pump was flat and brittle, most broke as I removed them. That along with the broken springs, explains the problem. This pump has 425k miles on it and I'm almost certain it's never been touched.
