I know of one fella who is running either the ATS or Powershot system in Kentucky on a first gen. Has had good luck with it as far as I know. I have built my own setup but have yet to install it. May just wait and put it on a 2nd gen a year or two down the road.

I built my own system. It is the same as the ATS system, just didn't cost a 1/3 of what they are selling them for.... I love it. You can tell it's there when you turn it on....If you have questions or need info e-mail me.

Can anyone explain just how propane injection works, like, how does it actually get into the engine? I know it adds power, but I have never actually seen a system installed to know how it gets there.<br>Thanks,<br>Brian

Propane injection is possible by means of either a vapor or liquid to vapor regulator. From there, a small hose is inserted before the turbo into the intake hose. Usually a boost pressure switch is put to read the intake boost. When a pre set amount of boost is reached, the boost switch sends a signal out of the spade terminal to a solenoid lockoff valve and opens the propane. From there, the regulator matches the same amount of boost with propane.<br><br>It is a pretty simple and safe system if used right. If not, you can expect blown head gaskets, melted pistons etc.

I think the guys who have problems with propane are guys who already have the pump timing advanced a lot. The propane in effect advances the timing even further, leading to really excessive cylinder pressures and subsequent head gasket failures. I think with stock timing it's safe, but I'd be reluctant to advance the pump running propane. I'd also want to set the system up so it would not allow propane to flow to a cold engine (lower than 160 degrees) and I wouldn't want the propane to flow at any rpm below peak torque, also due to the "advance" propane gives.
