Project truck won't crank over?
I'm not ready to start but I am trying to get the engine the crank. I just have the battery hooked up and I have run the main power wire from the 84's harness to the battery also. I have the engine and battery grounded and have checked for good grounds. Neutral safety ? (round plug with three wires) is hooked up on tranny and is in park. Did I take something loose from the 318 that needs to make a circuit. Seems like I am missing something from the ignition switch to the starter. I do hear a click when I turn the key but I think it is one of the 318's relays that's not needed anyway. I left most of the original 84's wiring harness intact until I got the bugs sorted out. Also I have horn, turn signals, taillights etc. Probably something very simple I'm overlooking. Anyone have some ideas?

The relay is there wanna, even though the fender isn't for now. I even tried grounding the bracket it is on but made no difference. I am using the 84's gasser harness. Only real diesel bits are the battery cables and the main charge wire from the alternator.

OK, made a little progress. Forgot pigtail coming off of pos side battery cable. One wire is brown and goes to the solenoid (but where, 84 is diff than the 90) and the small pink wire is hot, I don't know where it goes. But, touching the brown to pos term on battery and she cranks. Now, how do I do it with the key?

I didn't have much luck with the gasser solenoid, I couldn't find a cranking 12V going to it. I used a Ford style solenoid I had hanging on the wall, located a wire the had 12V in (key)start position and I was good to go. Thanks for kicking my brain in gear guys. Next
