Next lift pump...

What should I do? Piston lift pump or electric? Or are yall using the electric to get it to the lift pump? Im gonna need plenty of fuel eventually, as hopefully next summer Ill be throwing in some edm's and either a big single or some home brewed twins.

I'd skip the piston pump. I'm very happy with my parallel Walbro setup.

Do you have a writeup on that Dave, or is it just pretty simple? I didnt see anything electric wise in the sticky.

Looks good to me. I didnt see anywhere, are you still running the 391? And if Im still running stock lift pump, does it matter if I go with the 391 or 392?

Whatever happened to the 2nd gen lift puimp with a bypass regulator after the filter that bonzitoyota was working on?

I've been short on $$ or I probly have done that one myself.

I still have the 391. I am concerned about excessive inlet pressure to the plastic fuel heater when trying to push more flow through the filter. Pressure drop across a clean FS1221 (longer than stock) is 7 psi.

It would make me nervous to hit that fuel heater with more than the 25-30 psi it's seeing now. It's only 15 year old plastic.

If you wanted to get rid of the fuel heater (need a different spud, I think Bill has the part # handy) the 392 wouldn't scare me. With the truck being my DD and the winter temps getting in the waxing range pretty regularly, I need to keep the fuel heater.

We dont see too cold of temps here, but Id still hate to get rid of it. Besides, Im sure the 391 would be enough for me now. Once I get into (if) the edms and compounds or big single, I could add the piston pump and that would supply it fine right?

Nope, the piston pump just loafs along when the Walbro runs.

I can't pull the 391 below 15 psi with the pump turned up to the edge of runaway and plenty of fuel to break 400 HP if I had the air. I'd say it's adequate.
