I've seen a loss of power in the last few years. My truck is a 91 250 I bought new. Do I need to turn up the pump or clean, or get new injectors, or what. It's getting embarising to get blown away at every red light.

Check fuel pressure. Get gauges. Turn up PUMP. Get injectors. Check for boost leaks. PUT FOOT TO FLOOR. Watch smoke show and sit back.

On the top of the pump there is 4 screws that is the AFC diaphragm. Remove the 4 screw and the cap look at the rubber circle in there. That controls the amount of fuel to the amount of boost. More Boost more fuel. If that rubber boot is torn it will let boost pass through and not give as much fuel as it should. It is really easy to do. I am not sure if that would be the problem, but that is a good place to start.

I'll check all these things tommorow. I do put my foot to the floor, and I still dont get any smoke. It used to smoke at full throttle, but has not in the last few years.

Have somebody sit in the truck and mash the accelerator while you look at the throttle linkage. I'm betting you are only getting about 3/4 throttle when it's floored.
