starting to beefup
Stock 93 250 ram 4x4 LE 5 spd with K&N filter. looking for some advice on boosting the hp. The plan is to kill the KDP, open up the air intake and go 4" exhaust.
Will changing the banjo bolts help on a stock motor, help.
Can you benifit from bumping the pump timming up in a stock motor.
Where does a guy start with a diesel, any low buck mods I can start with????

The banjo bolts are cheap, and they won't hurt anything. You will not make any extra power with them, though.
Bumping the timing helps. Since you are still running the stock turbine housing you might not like the results, though. Advancing the timing slows the spoolup a little and makes the already soggy bottom end even soggier. This can be overcome by turning up the pump.
Turning up the pump is free. Look in the "tech facts" section of this website for more info. Get gauges before you mess with the main fuel screw.
Airflow improvements are good, but do not expect any SOTP power gains from them. On a diesel, fuel is what makes power. Air just lets you use power. I'm not saying you shouldn't put a 4" exhaust on your truck, it will be useful in the future, but I don't want you to dump $400 into the truck and be disappointed with the performance.
