Need info from Texans w/straight pipe
Can I get a straight pipe and still make it through the state inspection? I'd hate to do a mod that makes it hard to get a sticker every year...
What about the Cat? Recommendations for performance vs inspection problems?

I have no problems getting inspections with my straight pipe. But I don't get inspections around Dallas (Collin County), I usually go home and get them done in Lee County.

i was told that the turbo counts as a "sound dampener". as for the cat.....most places dont know enuf to know if it had one or not. i got my jeep inspected with a completely broken windshield, no cat, exhaust leak, no wipers, etc. all depends on where u go....

Per TXDOT book, it says that the exhaust must have a restrictive device. This can be stretched to a turbo. If the exhaust exits above the cab so many inches then you don't have to have one either.
