Exclamation Megamouth Down pipe, and 6" Straight Pipe questions....

I'm new to all of this, I've been browsing this site for the past few nights and am wondering if anyone could help me out. I'm looking at getting a bully dog 6" exhaust, but my real question is should I tap into the downpipe I currently have, use a 3.5" Megamouth, 4", or 4" Megamouth. I have an 01 dodge 1 ton 4x4, going to double torque and hp. I haul a 40' straight deck loaded approx. 27K# I don't want to lose power or turbo spooling by getting such a large exhaust, but wouldn't a tighter downpipe eliminate most of that? If any of you out there have a 6" on your truck I'd like to hear your opinions on this and how you like the pipe. Thanks.

first off, if you want to be able to fit a full size spare and a 6" pipe, a 265 is going to be as big as it gets, and it's still going to be tight.

second, 6" straight pipe is going to be LOUD, especially if you're towing. I run 5" straight pipe w/ a 6" tailpipe, and it'll talk to you pretty good, but I've got a lot of sound deadener in the truck, and I don't tow.

I wouldn't buy a mega-mouth downpipe if you plan on doubling power... just run whatever downpipe the kit comes with till you upgrade turbos and then run a matching downpipe for the new turbo.

if you want to keep from killing your bottom end and turbo spool up, run about 4 feet of 4" pipe off of the downpipe before you open up to 5" or 6" depending on what you go with.

Ok, sounds good. I'll definitely have to run that 4" pipe. Thanks.
