Which manuals
Good evening gents... plugging along doing some work on the old girl and learning ALOT!
This forum is a gold mine of info and knowledge... I tip my hat to you folks with many thanks...
Anyway, I have a gift card to Amazon.ca that expires tomorrow... can anyone recommend which service manual/manuals to get?
My truck is 1992 w250 club cab CTD auto tranny ... bone stock as far as I know.
I'm not a mechanic but I'm learning how to turn wrenches so I'm open to suggestions.

I would get a Dodge factory service manual for a '92 Dodge truck.
I have a '89, '91, '92, '95 and a '97 Factory service manual in my shop. They are a great resource when wrenching.

The closest that I could find on Amazon is this non-factory one for a 93:

I think RockAuto has FSM reprints in the "literature" section if you look up the truck and scroll down. They are in the $75 range and well worth it. I bought one from Fleabay that is printed by the same company for $95 shipped. DOH! Well worth the money. I wouldn't even bother with a Haynes or Chilton book.

Yes that's right about the CD from genos... I was thinking something more specific or specialized... such as manual on rebuilding the auto (a518? ...h47? ... or whatever is the stock auto transmission)
The manual for the engine would be from Cummings or dodge ... ours are "B" series 6cyl diesels correct?

Yes we have the B series motor. We have a 6BT motor the B stands for the series and the T stands for turbocharged.
Yes you have a A-518 auto transmission in that '92

Old dodge- use your Amazon card to get the specialty tools you'll need to wrench on these trucks, especially since you want to learn all about it. Get an engine barring tool, Bosch VE pump wrench, along with the low idle screw wrench, they sell. Bosch VE timing adjust kit with a dial indicator, Fuel pump gear puller. These are just a few of the specialty tools for our trucks.
If you'd rather focus on literature materials, do a search on A518 repair manuals, and there's a good book on repairing/ rebuilding the torque Flite 727, by Carl Munroe. Also, maybe search on Amazon if they have the 30+ page booklet on how to reseal/rebuild the Bosch VE fuel pump. All good tech books to have, along with the FSM and the B5.9 Cummins Engine book

I like the Dodge FSM better than the Cummins factory manual I have.
