Help identifying vacuum system part

Have done quite a bit of searching, and no dice.....have a 91.5 4wd. There is a small device, for lack of a better term, on the drivers side fender, between hood spring and firewall. Has a vacuum hose in center and a plug hooks in side toward radiator. What is this dude.....someone in the past( i m 3rd owner) had epoxied the nipple for vacuum line back on and today it cashed in its chips. Going to need to replace, but no idea what it is.

That is the low vacuum warning device. It will light up your ABS warning light if a low vacuum condition exists.

Are we sure this is all it does cuz I'm betting I'm going to have to go find one of these pickups in someone's Boneyard to get the part

Good luck. I've never seen one in a JY. Ollie Foster on here might have one. I don't know if they came on gassers. I plan on hydroboosting/ eliminating the RWAL valve on my truck so I will have one available in the next few months. I realize that doesn't do you any good right now though.

Noticed tonight brakes had a hard spot not there before and felt like they locked before they grabbed tight....no skid..... but kinda felt bad when i crammed on them. Has anyone ever tried plugging vacuum line until you can solve problem more gracefully?

that thing hasn't been hooked up in my truck since I bought it 3 years ago. my brakes work just fine and my "ABS" light is not on.

i'd say don't worry about it.
