BC847 didn't regulate his. according to this thread and part # given, it's the low pressure pump and there's nothing mentioned about a regulator.

Ok Dave, so did you do your 383hp dyno on this piston pump? If you did, that is plenty of flow for me at the time being. YOu may have said already but this thread is several pages long now; what can you yank your pressure down to at WOT on the piston pump alone?

Oh ya, this is what I was thinking of: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/....html?t=176472

The 2nd GEN pump is the high pressure high volume one that you have to run a regulator for. Should of never mentioned it.. sorry

You linked the 2nd gen piston pump, way higher pressure (30 psi IIRC) it'll blow the VE seal right out, you have to regulate it to 15psi, But the 2nd gen piston pump pushes alot more volume of fuel, so the PSI will drop less as you give it go-pedal ....

I know Archer39 did his 393HP dyno run on a piston pump. And theres no shortage of fuel at the end of his run, it smokes up to the point when he lets out the throttle.

I know Dave has a Walbro electric pump at 18psi now,

Low pressure piston pump- 15-17psi~ max
2nd gen piston pump- alot of psi, somwhere around 30-35 psi IIRC

ok ok, i'm a little more convinced of the low pressure LP now after reading through the thread dzl_damon linked to. i did, however, read that the max inlet pressure a VE can take may vary from one VE to another.

No, that run was with the Walbro on.

I can drag the piston pump down to 5 psi.

eh, close to 400hp and still have some net positive suction head? I think the low pressure pump will be enough for my situation then untill I get bored and go the twins/14mm pump head route which will probably be next year or so

Any word on output pressure yet? Wasn't someone installing one of these this past weekend? Inquiring minds want to know...
