Question Just getting started...

Hi all, new to the site and I'm enjoying all the useful info. I've seen a lot of info on a lot of different set ups, I'm just try to do some simple upgrades to my truck (93 5spd with a half turn on the pump) .

I'm looking at the 16 sq.cm. Turbo Exhaust Housing from Peak Diesel Performance as my turbo upgrade. Input? Will give me less lang, And hopfully that turbo whistle I would like to hear?

Also is that housing a good match for a Denny T pin and 3200 gov springs?

Other then that all I'm gonna do is a cool air intake( going to build my own thanks to this site), And a single 5" stack ( I'm straight pipe now to the back of truck).

I use this truck mostly has my driver but I do tow my Jeep up in the hills from time 2 time.

Thanks for any input!

If you are keeping the stock injectors I'd suggest a used 12 cm wastegated housing.

If you want much whistle you will need a compressor upgrade like the GDS or HTT.

Try and find a hx-35 instead of the 16 cm housing. The hx-35 has a 12cm wastegated housing which will spool much faster. The 16 isnt worth the money over an 18.5 which is what you should have.

The hx-35 will give you the whistle.

You NEED gauges if your towing. One look at how an EGT gauge works and you will understand.

So where do find a hx-35, is that just a housing? will it bolt right up? And is that a good combo with the Denny T pin and 3200 gov srings?

The HX-35 is a turbo, and can be found on the 2nd gen trucks. It's not a direct bolt up, but it's not difficult. It should work well with the DennyT pin and 366 spring.

If I recall correctly, if you get an HX-35 from a 2nd gen 12 Valve, you have to move the exhaust back a little bit, to make room for the wastegate, and thats it. I think its different with the latter 24 Valves, there is a little more work involved.
