Exclamation Oring engine side

Check the engine side of the pump, there is a small cap with two torqu's screws holding it on. The oring inside the cap is most likely cracked or broken, the cap is on the other side of the pump across form the timing advance senser. U will have to remove the injection pump to fix the oring. It will apear to be leaking from the bottom. Good luck

I just had to rebuild my injector pump because of the same problem. The technician told me that it was that the low sulphur fuel had allowed the seals in my pump to shrink and allow them to leak. I had my pump rebuilt and the valves adjusted. It made a difference in the way my truck runs at high RPM.

I am having the same problem in a "93 model. If I remove the pump is it necessary to mark it in any way to be sure it is replaced exactly the same. I have never owned a diesel before this one so I am green at this.

If it's stock there is a match mark (near the nut that you can reach ).
The shaft is keyed so no worries there.
