ic done, good and bad

the ic project is done! For installation of the larger 2nd gen ic I used the info from the sticky and it was spot on except I have a tranny oil cooler in front of the rad and did not want to move it so I had to fab a new grille. For the new air intake my efforts to contact cooltubz was a complete waste of my time, do not bother! I went with puscher and am very happy. They do not, as of yet, make one for the first gen but the second gen one was very easy to make work. Just a bit of grinding with the dremil tool at the base of the throttle linkage and a small, penny sized, hole in the hood cross member and we were good to go. On the exhaust side I had another run in with an idiot! Dallas at DAP swore up and down they had a diamond eye 4" dp with the flange I needed that would fit in a first gen. When I got the email conformation on my order it said 2nd gen style so I called him on it, he assured me that just meant it bolted right up to the turbo and yes it would fit my first gen. Well guess what, not even close! XDP to the rescue, their system fit like a glove, turbo to back bumper. Also thanks to Genos Garage for the pods and gauges.

Question bedliner

That's a nice truck!

Many apologies for the thread hijack. Your diamond-plate bedliner -- did you fabricate that yourself or it is commercially available?

TIA.

The blue looks like the right color for the engine in my truck. How about you take all the parts out and send them to me?

Looks good.

Just the very top of the pipe. In retrospective I could have just adjusted. The hood hinges since it sits low since I removed the fender on that side.

I bought an intake from Pusher for mine as well when I installed a PS I/C. The '94-'98 12v intake fits but has a pretty high arch to it. I also had Nate or Jacob (don't recall) make me one without the dipstick mount. Since my grid heater had been disconnected prior to this, I just pulled the heater altogether. No need to clearance the hood. However, I did have to flip the under-hood light around which then became inoperable since the mercury switch was working opposite. I eventually got rid of it the assembly anyhow when the retracting mechanism failed to retract the blub assembly.

Enjoy!
