How to put a Cummins in a 1980 Crew Cab.
Crewcab's are very simple . your best bet is to get a donor truck . That way you have all the wiring and all the small stuff . you will need to relocate the wiring bulkhead over some so the clutch pedal can be Mounted . Do a search on here .there have been Several done . Just Takes Time .
As Ramguy mentioned a donor is very helpful, but not completely necessary. Plenty of people have swapped in a cummins with no donor. You just won't have the cummins info center, automatic grid heaters, and a couple other functions. Just depends on how close to an original cummins 1st gen you want your truck to be.
On that thought, and this could effect your decision, you also need to decide if you are going with an intercooler or not? Lots of things to consider, and a detailed build thought out before you start will save you time and money down the road.

That being said, there are a lot of people here with MUCH more technical knowledge/background than me.
I just wrench on 1st gen 12Vs and if I am lucky, my '85 crew cabs often.
I just don't post many pictures as I am a little special that way.
In case this was not clear, I do believe NJTman was being sarcastic.
