How do I get rid of haze at idle?

My DDP 80 horse injectors smoke a little at idle. It's not a big deal, but I would prefer they didn't smoke/haze at all.

I dialed back the smoke screw a whole turn (first time I ever touched it) and it didn't do anything.

Could the Denny T fuel pin and the injectors be fueling too much at idle?

Well, I thought it was funny..........LOL Try backing out your smoke screw a little more. I've heard of guys actually adding material to the top of thier covers to get the screw to back out further, and they still smoke.

Will advancing the timing do any good? I tried searching and I think it was mentioned somewhere.

More timing might help, you can also try thinner (or thicker) coppers under the injectors to see what they like.

i wish i could advance mine more without a lot of work, my pump is pushed to the head and it still hazes a little. It did make a big difference from 1/8 bump to the head though.

Thats what I was thinking, bumping the timing. Also, for the washers for the injectors, I have heard that people with POD's used .20 coppper washers and it got rid of the haze. If it did it on POD's I'm sure it would do it on the DDP's. I will try to look up the thread I read that in.

Mine are clean and clear, did you use the washers they sent with the injectors? I have my star wheel up almost as far as it will go without binding and the smoke screw is backed out flush. Timing is a good help to I guess, really havent had a truck with stock timing more than a few hours. lol

You can always go a tooth on the pump gear, I did that and it worked pretty good with the POD's.

I would definately advance the timing. If not just for the idle smoke, big injectors need more time to burn the fuel. Plus there are MPG and HP benefits

Yes I used all the stuff they provided. Keep in mind that I'm at 4200 feet and have a bit less air to burn than you do in Houston.

How many turns can you back out the smoke screw before it runs out of thread?

I posted awhile back on this subject, and with the suggestions of Bgilbert I pulled out my injectors, cleaned them thoroughly with brake fluid at both ends, and replaced them back in with the .020 washers, which are the thinnest washers available with my injector kit(PODS) and my at idle, fully warmed up, haze is pretty much gone, and the haze at startup in the AM is there for only about 10 minutes(timed it this morning) and is pretty clear after that. Better power, too it seems, with the thinnest washers.

I don't think pods can be compared to ddp 80's. The thinner washers with pods do well because the spray pattern is not the greatest and being closer to the piston puts more of the fuel into the dish for cleaner burn. I hope! If I'm wrong slap me.
