Take the cover off the AFC housing, pull out the fuel pin and the spring, turn the star wheel all the way clockwise, then put the pin back with the deepest side to the front. Then set the smoke screw all the way in. It'll look like you're fogging for mosquitos until the turbo spools up. And shifting early and bogging the motor makes for huge clouds. It will look like you're making 4 times the power you actually have. Put a pyro gauge on before you do this, you could fry the motor if you aren't able to keep an eye on the EGT.

This link will help you understand what I just said. There are diagrams that show where all this stuff is better than I could explain it.

Get gages first because if you dont you will blow the motor for sure. You allways want to keep an eye on the pyro.

please do NOT remove the AFC cone assembly and run the truck like that. if you do, you'll very likely have a fuel leak because the guide pin will protrude much too far and, actually come close to coming out of it's little o-ring inside the pump.

You can turn in the smoke screw for now, then get gauges before you go any further. Read up on changing turbo housings so you can make use of the fuel when the gauges are in and you turn up the pump. That, and the new exhaust will help keep your EGT's under control.
